The Agency Property Group is excited to announce a new addition to its team this month, with Jo Fourie joining The Agency Family. Jo will be focusing on the Southern Suburbs, with the Newlands, Claremont and Bishopscourt areas, in particular, falling under her watch.
With over 4 years in the real estate industry, having built her career as a property consultant for a major corporate agency, in 2020, Jo realised that the industry was changing and opted to change with it. She wanted her clients to be much more than just a number and to build closer relationships with both buyers and sellers. Jo believes in building and maintaining close relationships with clients and her approach to any transaction is 'about the people, not the agent'. This philosophy, of course, is shared by the rest of The Agency team, making Jo a natural fit.
It's something she is looking forward to embracing further at The Agency.
"Operating alone and having the freedom to really provide a customised experience to all my clients is what really appeals to me, while also having the flexibility to be present with my children. Balance in my life is incredibly important."
Having operated in the area for a number of years, Jo is well-placed to spearhead The Agency's presence in the Southern Suburbs areas she is tasked with and offers some insight into what makes it such a popular choice to set up a home.
"The area is obviously very popular because of its proximity to all the fantastic schools that are based there," says Jo. "It's centrally located - it is close to both the CBD and airport - so the commute to work is not very intense, while once back home, you're in the suburbs, with the mountain backdrop and a number of beautiful walks to enjoy.
"Then, of course, it also has the lifestyle aspects, with some fabulous restaurants and shops right on your doorstep. It really is a lifestyle choice for most clients who buy in the area and there is little doubt as to why it is such a popular place to buy a home."
Jo readily admits that her family - husband Jacques and three children - are her world and she enjoys spending as much time with them as possible. Other passions include cooking, walking with her adorable dog (on one of the many trails in Cape Town) and sipping gin and tonics with people who make her laugh.
Again, she is in good company, with The Agency understanding the need for balance between work and personal aspirations. We are incredibly excited to have Jo on board and look forward to having her grow The Agency's presence in the areas she will be working.
