Time to dip into the Atlantic Seaboard market

Category Industry News

While recent findings by Lightstone's Cape Town Property Market 2019 overview shows some growth in the Cape Town property market, and forecasts future growth, it is still very much a buyer's market at the moment and a good time to start looking to invest.

The Atlantic Seaboard, in particular, has shown little signs of movement, and provides buyers with a fantastic opportunity to invest in one of the most sought-after stretches in the country. More stock, of course, means more opportunity to negotiate, and for the moment the scales still seem to be balanced in favour of the buyer.

"It's a good time to be taking advantage of stalling property prices and what is currently a buyer's market," says The Agency Property Group's Kyle Leigh.

There may, in fact, never be a better time to invest in property on the Atlantic Seaboard, with the forecast of gradual growth pointing to a solid investment for those willing to dip their toes into the market.

Add to this the stable repo rate - with mild interest rate hikes being pushed out to late 2019 or possible as late as 2020 - the current climate provides informed buyers with the opportunity to secure long-term investments at good value.

"There are a number of fantastic properties on the Atlantic Seaboard, which has proven itself time and again as a solid long-term investment and is considered a must-have in anyone's property portfolio. I think everyone knows how desirable the Atlantic Seaboard is and how well it has performed over the years and the current market presents a perfect opportunity for those looking to jump in for the first time." says Leigh.

It is a great time for first time buyers looking to get into the area through the R2.5-to-R3.5-million range or for a savvy investor to snap up a 2-bedroom apartment for children heading to university or to act as a rental property.

"For example, we have a phenomenal 2 bedroom apartment in Sea Point (VIEW HERE) that is incredibly well priced and perfect for the first time buyer or a renovated 2 bedroom gem in the heart of Green Point (VIEW HERE) as a short term rental or for students looking to be closer to the city and De Waterkant.''
