Cape Town's Riviera
Category Industry News
Atlantic Seaboard glistens in Cape Town's summer sun.
It's known as Cape Town's 'Riviera' and for good reason.
The Atlantic Seaboard, running from the iconic V&A Waterfront to the quaint seaside village settings of Hout Bay, is one of the most sought-after areas in the Mother City. A combination of urban cool and jaw-dropping views, it is the prime real estate in the city.
And at no time of year is its appeal stronger than in the summer months.
With the deep blue waters of the Atlantic Ocean lapping on its doorstep and with Lion's Head and the Twelve Apostles providing a stunning backdrop, you would be hard pressed to find a more aesthetically pleasing place to call home.
Made up of the vibey urban hub of Green Point, the much-loved Sea Point Promenade, which stretches from Mouille Point to the end of Sea Point, and the picturesque neighbourhoods of Clifton, Camps Bay and Bakoven, the Atlantic Seaboard has continued to develop its offerings and the good news is that it's not resting on its laurels.
"The Atlantic Seaboard is one of the most sought-after areas in Cape Town," says Lynn Pinn Co-Founder and Real Estate Broker of The Agency Property Group.
"The area is north-facing, meaning it gets all-day sun and has the most beautiful African sunsets. Clifton and Camps Bay beaches both have Blue Flag status, putting them amongst the best beaches in the world, the V&A Waterfront is Cape Town's most-visited tourist attraction and the area continues to benefit from new additions such as the ZEITZ Mocca at the V&A's Silo District.
"And, of course, you have the incredible mountain and ocean views."
As summer in Cape Town starts to settle in, the Atlantic Seaboard will be the place to be, with runners, walkers and families, with their dogs in tow, taking advantage of the longer, warmer days on the Promenade; the restaurants and bars along Victoria Road in Camps Bay and Somerset Road in Green Point will be hubs of activity; and the Blue Flag beaches will welcome those chasing the first - and the last - rays of the sun.
Cape Town is at its best in the summer, with the annual influx of visitors only adding to the warmth and vibe of this incredible place, and there is no place better to enjoy it than on the Atlantic Seaboard.
Cape Town has become a buyers' market with data indicating that prices may have peaked in October last year.
''With the property market cooling significantly since the start of 2018 and given that the Atlantic Seaboard is still one of the most desirable places to live and invest in the world, now is the perfect time to buy,'' says Co-Founder Simony Santos.
